Amplifiers
Choosing an amplifier is a critical part of your home theate
project. The amplifier is the heart of your new system. If
you select an undrpowered amp, your speakers will be driven
into a state called 'clipping'
When an amplifier is pushed to create a signal with more
power than it can support, it will amplify the signal only
up to its maximum capacity, at which point the signal will
be amplified no further. As the signal simply "cuts"
or "clips" at the maximum capacity of the amplifier,
the signal is said to be "clipping." The extra signal
which is beyond the capability of the amplifier is simply
cut off, resulting in a distorted sound at the speaker, and
eventually a blown speaker (usually tweeters go first)
CHTI will spec an amp which will be matched to your speaker
and distribution subsystem.
We recommend amplifiers from the following manufacturers:

CHTI were recently appointed an official Bang
and Olufsen accredited installer.
